Cally - Leadership, Resilience, and Sportsmanship

At The Village School of Naples (TVS), we take pride in fostering students who excel academically and in their personal development. Cally Sebold, ‘26, exemplifies the spirit of TVS through her commitment to academics, sports, and personal growth. As an active participant in multiple sports and a student passionate about making a positive impact, Cally's journey at TVS is an inspiring example of what it means to be a Knight.

A Passion for Soccer and Sportsmanship

Cally’s love for soccer shines brightly as one of the key aspects of her life at TVS. Having been on the school soccer team for the past four years, she has found that the sport is not just an activity but also a way to relieve stress, make lasting friendships, and continuously develop her athletic abilities.

In addition to soccer, Cally has participated in volleyball, tennis, and lacrosse, taking on the roles of player, teammate, and captain in both. Her leadership on the field and her dedication to teamwork reflect the TVS value of hard work—one of the Christ Skills that guides our students in all their endeavors.

"Soccer has been a big part of my life for multiple years. It’s my way of relieving stress, making friends, and constantly developing my athleticism."

A Role Model of Resilience and Determination

Cally's accomplishments in sports are not just about winning games; they are about personal growth and overcoming challenges. "I find the sports I play a method of therapy. It is a period of relief, and I feel I am given the ability to forget about my problems and focus on a skill I am good at," she reflects. Her perseverance on the field mirrors the resilience she applies in all areas of her life, and her dedication to improving her skills inspires her teammates and peers.

Values Rooted in Humor and Hard Work

When asked about her favorite Christ Skills, Cally highlights two that she carries with her every day: Sense of Humor and Hard Work. “Humor is such a great skill to have. I feel with my sense of humor I have made so many types of relationships and have grown to make more friends,” she explains. Her ability to connect with others and bring positivity to every situation is a testament to the inclusive and supportive environment at TVS.

As for Hard Work, Cally believes in its power to achieve anything she sets her mind to. "If you work hard enough, you can accomplish anything," she states. This mindset has been instrumental in her athletic and academic success and is a guiding principle as she looks toward the future.

A Mentor Close to Home

Cally’s role model is her mother, whom she describes as her "biggest role model" and "best friend." "I aim to be like her as I grow older," she says, admiring her mother’s strength and kindness. This close-knit relationship reflects the value of family and the importance of having a strong support system, which TVS fosters through its community-driven environment.

Serving the Community with Gratitude

In addition to excelling in sports and academics, Cally has also made an impact through her community service efforts. One of the most meaningful experiences for her was volunteering after Hurricane Ian, where she helped clean up homes destroyed by the storm. "I was non-stop thinking about how lucky and blessed I am," she recalls. This experience taught her the value of gratitude and the importance of helping those in need, reinforcing her desire to make a difference in the world.

Looking Toward the Future

Cally’s aspirations for the future are rooted in a desire to help others. She plans to pursue a career in the medical field, where she believes her ability to communicate and connect with people on a deeper level will make a difference. "I want to work in the medical world. I feel I would be great at helping people physically and communicating with people on a deeper level," she shares.

Her goal is to be remembered as helpful, hardworking, kind-hearted, and memorable—qualities that reflect the core values we strive to instill in every student at The Village School.

Cally Sebold’s story is a testament to the power of perseverance, community, and service. At The Village School of Naples, we celebrate students like Cally, who embody our values and inspire others through their leadership, kindness, and dedication to positively impacting the world.
