My Day at TVS

8:00 A.M.

Arrival; Morning Meeting

Each day begins with a meeting that sets the tone for the day. Everyone reviews the schedule, discusses their goals, and ponders the question of the day.

Division wide community service projects are implemented throughout the school year, mostly organized by our Student Government Leaders and might include food collection, book drives, diaper drives, and campus cleaning needs. Students are presented with many volunteer opportunities within the school year.

Town Hall; Chapel

Each Monday, the entire Lower School meets outside on the playground field to set a positive tone for the week by presenting awards, celebrating successes, and talking about the word of the month weekly challenge. In closing, pledges, prayers, and the honor code are recited by all.

On Wednesday this time is used for Chapel service. The entire Lower School gathers in the North Naples Church (NNC) Sanctuary to listen, sing, think spiritually and pray.

Academics

In the Lower School, students experience a well-balanced and developmentally appropriate curriculum that fosters the development of the whole child; spiritually, physically and academically. Language Arts, Math, Science, Bible and Social Studies are taught at each grade level with different arts classes throughout the day.

11:10 A.M.

Recess; Lunch

Students break from learning, taking time to let loose and enjoy the fresh air while engaging in various sports and physical activities in the playground field. They enjoy lunch with peers for social development.

Academics Continue

In addition to core subject areas; Music, Physical Education, Art, Innovation, and Spanish also enhance our curriculum with opportunities for students to foster their own gifts and talents in other areas outside of academics. Project-based learning also allows students to hone in on their strengths, use them to develop products as a group where all students’ strengths shine.

In fifth grade, a final capstone passion project culminates the elementary years into one major project where students combine their passions with a service project that benefits the community.

Ending the day on a high note, students father to review the day, celebrate successes and set goals for the following school day.
